New Repeat Prescription Line

From Monday 22nd October, repeat prescriptions can be ordered via our new Repeat Prescription Request Line on 01563 599300.

We will no longer be taking repeat prescription requests on our main line.

The Repeat Prescription Request Line allows you to leave a message day 24 hours a day.

Please ensure you leave the following information on our answering machine:

Your Name, Address, Date of Birth, Contact Telephone Number, Full description of the items you require.

If you telephone our main line, you will be asked to redial the above number.

This allows the practice to free up the lines for those requiring more urgent assistance.

Obtaining Results

When you attend for a blood test of any kind you will be told by the nurse or Health Care Assistant how long you should expect to wait for the results.

You can find our your results by requesting them via askmyGP by clicking here, or by telephoning us on 01563 523593 after 10.30am.

All test samples are collected and sent to the laboratory three times per day.

You will be told by the clinician to make sure you contact the surgery to obtain your results and the practice will only call you with your result in exceptional circumstances or if your GP feels it is necessary.

As the patient, it is your responsibility to contact us to obtain your results. 

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the patient they relate to unless that person has given prior written permission for their release to someone else or if the GP determines that the patient is not capable of understanding them.

Most results (blood, urine & stool samples) will be available about 1 week after the test has been done but occasionally some results may take longer. If they have to be sent to a laboratory out-with the health board area the result may not be received for up to two weeks or longer.

Results for any other tests done at the hospital (e.g. X-rays, Scans, MRIs etc) should be requested from the hospital direct.
