A MESSAGE REGARDING PRESCRIPTION ORDERING

PLEASE NOTE THE PRESCRIPTION TELEPHONE SERVICE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE OVER THE CHRISTMAS WEEKEND.  IT WILL REOPEN AT 8AM ON TUESDAY 29TH DECEMBER.

GP practices and Community Pharmacies are working incredibly hard to keep their services operating and medicine supply flowing in this extremely challenging time.

Medicines are NOT in short supply. Please only order the medicines that you need from your GP practice. Do not order all of your medicines automatically every time.

Please tell the practice which pharmacy you wish to collect medicines from.

GPs and Community Pharmacies will work together to ensure you get your medicines when they are due.  Pharmacies are extremely busy, please allow at least FIVE days from ordering your medicine to collection from the Community Pharmacy.

If you have any COVID-19 symptoms (new continuous cough, fever, shortness of breath) or had contact with someone with corona virus DO NOT go to your Community Pharmacy. Stay at home and self-isolate.  Please ask someone else to collect your medicines

Please remember you have two options for ordering prescriptions - you can order online at www.londonroadmedicalpractice.co.uk or by calling our dedicated prescription line 01563 599300.

The Prescription Request Line allows you to leave a message day 24 hours a day, from Monday - Friday.

Please ensure you leave the following information on our answering machine:

  • Your Name
  • Address
  • Date of Birth
  • Contact Telephone Number
  • Full description of the items you require
  • Which pharmacy you would like to collect your prescription from

If you telephone our main line, you will be asked to redial the above number.

This allows the practice to free up the lines for those requiring more urgent assistance.

Please note that repeat prescriptions should not be ordered more than 7 days in advance.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment via askmyGP to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
